MOORE STILL PROTESTING WAR
SOCIALIST PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE SEES MAJORITY ON HIS SIDE
By TONY HOLT
Published: December 31, 2007

WEEKI WACHEE - It was difficult hearing Brian Moore over the blaring horns.

He appreciates those sounds more than the screaming and cussing to which he has grown accustomed.

But it was the honking that was drowning out the other noises. Aside from a few heckles from a passenger in a garbage truck, there weren't many outspoken critics on the road Saturday morning. READ MORE

A Christmas and New Year's Message from Brian Moore

"Peace on Earth and Good Will toward men" is the universal message that we all should be conveying in our families and communities in light of the world's present day problems.

The Socialist Party's motivating philosophy of humanitarism and a strong belief in egalitarianism shines forth in comparison to the faltering economic system now operating in America and around the world based on greed, exploitation and a blind rationality to the free market mindset.

War, poverty, illness, unrewarding and uncompensated jobs and a widening gap between the rich and the poor exists at the start of this new century. It strikes a resounding sense of despair, anxiety, loss of hope and worry amongst humankind.

A renewed sense of hope, based on our political party's rich heritage of fairness and equality amongst workers and citizens, is what should urge our spirits on in the beginning of this 21st century.

In this spirit, we urge our fellow man not to give up, not to despair, but to rekindle its sense of hope as a new beginning for change in the year 2008 and for the immediate future.

CNN/YouTube Republican Debate Protest in St. Petersburg, Florida on November 28, 2007

Brian participated with colleagues from his antiwar group in the CNN/YouTube Republican Debate protest Wednesday evening, November 28th, in St. Petersburg, Florida. There were approximately 400 to 500 protesters demonstrating in front of the Maheffey Theater in St. Petersburg where the debate occurred.

The Tampa Bay Community Television Network, which has about a 400,000 plus audience base potential, interviewed Brian at the event for about 7 of the 14 minute tape that they have posted exclusively on their website. Brian was able to address issues at length of the Socialist Party also. The tape includes filming the protestors, police, demonstrators getting arrested, Brian's and two other interviews. The confrontation was an exclusive taping, and the rest of the media apparently has snatched up copies of the confrontation and arrests, which include Brian's interview.

TV Host Chris Krimitsos, of Tampa Bay Community Network, and Host of the "Bleepin Truth" show, was the person who interviewed Brian on tape and also interrupted the interview to exclusively film the protestor confrontation and subsequent arrests.

Brian has been formally invited by Chris also to the TV network's Tampa Studios for a live interview next Tuesday evening, December 4th, to discuss the protest event and more. Click here to see the protest & interview. Read More

P2008. Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney continue to keep their third party options open for the 2008 Presidential race. Both are taking steps the maximize their options. The latest proof: Nader and McKinney each allowed their names to be placed on the California Presidential primary ballot for both the Green Party and Peace & Freedom Party contests, according to Ballot Access News. Socialist Party nominee Brian Moore will also compete in the PFP primary, as the winner of the PFP primary is guaranteed the party's ballot line on the November ballot in the state. McKinney has also allowed her name to be placed on the Green primary ballot for the Illinois primary. Nader and McKinney have both expressed an interest in the Green nomination, but each also claims to have not yet made any decision on running next year.

"ACTIVIST WINS SOCIALISTS' NOD FOR PRESIDENT"

Spring Hill---Antiwar activist Brian Moore of Spring Hill won the nomination for president of the United States at the Socialist Party USA national convention in St. Louis on Saturday. Last year, he failed in his bid as an Independent to unseat U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. Moore won the nomination on the convention's third ballot.

'Damn socialist' Brian Moore gets presidential nod
By TONY MARRERO

SPRING HILL — As a political candidate, Brian Moore’s views have prompted critics to levy what they thought to be the ultimate slur.

“They’d always call me ‘that damn Socialist,’” Moore recalled.

Moore admits the word even used to make him wince.

Now, however, he is more than a dues-paying member of the Socialist Party USA.

He is the party’s presidential candidate...Read More

Socialist Party Ticket is Moore-Alexander
October 20th, 2007

The Socialist Party nominated Brian Moore of Florida for president, and Stewart Alexander of California for vice-president, at the St. Louis convention. The final presidential vote was 25 for Moore and 20 for Eric Chester of Massachusetts. Inasmuch as Alexander is also a member of the Peace & Freedom Party, this may be the best opportunity the Socialist Party ticket has ever had to also win the Peace & Freedom nomination. The Socialist Party has tried many times in the past to have its presidential candidate also be nominated by the Peace & Freedom Party, but that goal has always eluded it.
