A dear friend of mine, and a consistent supporter of our earlier campaigns, a gentleman by the name of Deron Mikal, who lives in Florida, has urged me to begin fundraising efforts early and often. Deron has already committed himself to making a $100 donation each month, for the next 18 months, to our campaign. His first $100 monthly contribution began in July, 2007, as well as contributing other amounts previously..

We invite you to consider doing the same as Deron, and join with him in making a monthly pledge. Whether it is $5, $20 or $100 a month, the steady income will be a great help to our campaign efforts as we seek the nomination and, assuming we are victorious, beyond into the election of 2008. I continue to participate with our local antiwar group, the NatureCoast Coalition for Peace and Justice, as we demonstrate and hold a variety of protest activities against the Iraq War on a weekly basis.

I still am advocating for a national health system, protection of our freedoms and civil rights, opposition to corporate dominance and a corrupted and weak two-party system, fair trade over free trade and worker ownership and control of large companies. My other efforts include opposing the Cuban Embargo, promoting and protecting our natural resources, unionization of all workers, a living income for all citizens and a large reduction of unnecessary military spending are some of the crucial issues I continue to fight for.
