As an outspoken and early critic of the misguided and disastrous war in Iraq, Brian favors the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. troops and corporations from that country within a six-month transition period; to be replaced by a United Nations peacekeeping force with full authority for the reconstruction of that war-ravaged nation. Unlike the majority of Democrats and almost all Republicans who continue to wholeheartedly support the unjustified and costly American occupation of Iraq — Brian has called for additional congressional hearings on the Bush Administration’s justification for going to war, the abuse of prisoners and the illegal and inhumane use of torture by the U.S. military. Believing that the Bush Administration is arguably the most nefarious and deceitful in U.S. history and that the administration’s misleading and contrived reasons for going to war, the prisoner abuse scandal and the subsequent threats to cherished American freedoms, including right of privacy, clearly constitute high crimes and misdemeanors, Brian unequivocally calls for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
